The Vegan slimmers shopping list

Food shopping when you are trying to lose weight can be a bit of a nightmare. There are so many different foods to choose from and the supermarket can be full of temptation as well.¬† It’s even harder when you are vegan as so many of the foods that are considered diet friendly are animal products. Thankfully though pulses and legumes are diet friendly and good for you.

I have learnt that being vegan requires extra planning and organisation anyway when it comes to buying food. This seems to increase when trying to lose weight. For this reason I have written a list that I keep on my phone and I work from that to see what I need when I go shopping. It helps me stay on track because it means I’ve always got the foods I need in, and there is no junk food on the list.

This is my list:

Fruit and Vegetables

I don’t need to buy all these things every week, but keeping the list on my phone helps me to keep organised. I know that by having most of the foods on the list in the cupboards I can make a healthy, low syn meal. This is really important for me because I know I need to lose weight and I really don’t want to be held back. These foods mean I can always make a meal when I get in from work, usually within less than half an hour as well which is good when I’m hungry.
